I would like to say building a light show was always on my list of things to do. Unfortunately, the reason I started was due to boredom from the COVID Pandemic. By 2021, after nearly a year of lockdown... I simply needed something to do... a project. I happened to come upon a youtube video of a light show and it intrigued me. I started to search for more info and decided to give it a shot. The first year was a huge learning experience as I knew absolutely nothing about building and running one. I didn't even know if it would come together as the supply chain issues caused much of what I needed to arrive late October and early November. But I managed to get a Christmas Holiday light show up and working but it was a hot mess.
With encouragement from a neighbor, I decided to add a Halloween light show to the mix in 2022. By then, I knew I was hooked and decided to expand it. I added few more props and lights.
2023 (year 3) was spent learning as much as possible about light shows. I started fresh and reprogrammed from the ground up and incorporated much of what I learned. I added more props... some worked... some did not. I always try to learn and improve on past shows.
2024 (year 4) - OKAY I admit I did not focus on the light shows at all in the first half of the year except deciding on some new song choices and building this new website. In June, I choose to add a fence and started building it which took about a month. In August, I settled on the idea to streamline both the Halloween and Christmas shows this year. I elected to share more of the same props between the shows instead of the previously totally different prop structures between the two - leading to more work. With the prop choices made... I was ready begin work on this year's shows. I am really excited about this year.
